you should always keep a vehicle safety kit inside of your vehicle. The items you should pack include the following:

  • Flares
  • Blanket
  • Tow rope
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • First-aid kit
  • Basic tool kit

When you plan to travel somewhere, make sure you fully charge your phone. Additionally, you should take the time to input phone numbers into the emergency contacts file so you can quickly dial for help if you find yourself needing assistance. You should always keep important information inside of your glove box including your vehicle registration, driver’s license, insurance information and an additional copy of your emergency contacts.

If you are involved in an accident, immediately get yourself and any vehicle occupants to a location where everyone is safe. From here, call 911 and stay on the scene until they arrive. Often, the authorities will inquire about what happened, take witness accounts and assist you and other involved parties in the accurate exchange of information.
